As a highly experienced and autonomous member of the multidisciplinary YSAS primary health team, the Registered Nurse provides direct primary health care activities to marginalised and at-risk young people entering Victoria’s two Secure Care Units and their stakeholders.
Secure Care provides primary health services to young people who are in Secure Welfare Services and at substantial and immediate risk of significant harm as part of Child Protection and Family Services.
The Shift Senior role is recognised as a leader within the team. The role forms part of the leadership group of the unit, and works as a delegate of the Unit Manager to model the core values of YSAS through effective leadership and management of the youth workers and support staff.
