AOD Senior Practitioner (Internal Applicants Only)

  • Fixed term until June 2024
  • Full time (76 hours per fortnight)
  • Remuneration SCHCADS level 6.1 dependent on qualifications and experience + 11% Employer superannuation
  • Based across two sites Epping and Collingwood

 

About the position

The Senior Practitioner is a member of the Northern AOD leadership based across the NMR of Melbourne with the team across two sites Epping and Collingwood, this Senior Practitioner role will be based out of Collingwood site – situated in the Headspace building at Victoria Park.

The position leads site implementation and compliance with the YSAS Model of Care, and provides practice supervision and limited operational supervision to outreach workers.

The Senior Practitioner will also undertake direct service activities, crisis intervention, assessment, case work / case management services and ongoing support to minimise the harm of drug use to young people. The role requires working independently across a range of areas with support from the Team Manager.

 

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

  1. Provide direct support/supervision to a small number of AOD outreach staff. Facilitation of reflective practice and case review sessions across the Northern AOD team.
  2. Develop close working relationships with the YSAS outreach teams and external stakeholders.
  3. Implement a range of modalities including but not limited to: intensive individual casework, group work, family work, out postings, community-based outreach, collaboration and care planning.
  4. Provide written quarterly reports regarding the progress of key objectives identified.
  5. Provision of a developmentally appropriate and responsive service to vulnerable young people from communities in the Northern region of Melbourne.
  6. Facilitate a range of responses that meet the young persons assessed needs, such as, health, primary health, health education, harm reduction, housing needs and overall safety.
