Part time (38 hours per fortnight)
Registered Nurses level 4 dependent on qualifications and experience + 11 % Employer superannuation
Other registration required: AHPRA

About the position

The purpose of the Nursing role is to provide direct care to Young people that are admitted to the Residential Withdrawal Units and Rehab Units. The position will facilitate withdrawal / rehab services for young people seeking assistance in their physical detoxification and Rehabilitation from licit and illicit substances use. This position works closely with YSAS General Practitioners, community General Practitioners and residential staff team.

Some of the key responsibilities will be:


1. Communicate with young people and relevant family and/or workers to organise for intake assessment.Develop management plans based on assessment for general illness and injuries, Specific substance withdrawal management plans, behaviour management plans & medication management plans.
2. Develop management plans based on assessment for general illness and injuries, Specific substance withdrawal management plans, behaviour management plans & medication management plans.Assessment and management of substance withdrawal in collaboration with the primary health team
3. Facilitation of and participation in  daily morning intake and allocation meeting.Provide clinical expertise with regard to assessment,   treatment and care planning, information on treatment options to clients;
4. Assessment of young people with complex clinical presentations.
5. Maintain accurate and secure client data collection within standards of practice and prescribed YSAS systems and tools;
6. Provide clinical expertise with regard to assessment,   treatment and care planning, information on treatment options to clients;
