About the position

The purpose of the Nursing role is to provide direct care to Young People that are admitted to the Residential Withdrawal Units and Rehab Units. The position will facilitate withdrawal / rehab services for young people seeking assistance in their physical detoxification and Rehabilitation from licit and illicit substances use. This position works closely with YSAS General Practitioners, community General Practitioners and residential staff team.

 

Key Selection Criteria 

  1. Demonstrate previous experience working as a registered nurse. Include where applicable – specific AOD clinical experience. Include what you found to be most rewarding and what you found to be most challenging.
  2. Demonstrate how you have developed and maintained positive relationships with young people and external agencies in your past employment.
  3. Understanding of the principles and practice of harm minimisation orientated treatment and prevention interventions in the alcohol and drug field.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of adolescent development issues.
  5. Knowledge of contemporary approaches to youth drug treatment.
  1. Well-developed interpersonal, written, organisational and communication skills.
