Acting Manager – Youth Participation, Feedback & Complaints (Internal Applicants Only)

  • Fixed term - 3 months January to March 2026
  • Full time 76 hours per fortnight

About the position

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that young people’s voices are integral to organisational decision-making, governance and leadership, and local program change, with an ultimate goal of co-creating with or being led by young people to create meaningful and active opportunities for youth participation and shared decision-making.

About you and how you will be successful in this role

The role leads development and coordination of both the Youth Participation Team and the broader Youth Participation area of work at YSAS. This includes:

  • Leading the team (2.1 FTE staff) and ensuring that they receive appropriate supervision
  • Supporting and monitoring the application of YSAS Youth Participation policy across the organisation.
  • Meaningfully partner with Koorie Youth Council and actively and effectively implement their guidance.
  • Communicating the Annual Youth Participation Operational Plan to YSAS.
  • Leading Youth Partnership Month and Feedback and Complaints Month.
  • Supporting YSAS Youth Participation Forum, Youth Participation SharePoint Page, and Youth Participation MS Teams Chat, ensuring they are accessible, engaging and safe places to grow and learn to maximise participation.

In addition to this, the role also ensures that feedback and complaints are captured and responded to in line with YSAS values and in a way that promotes learning and change in services when appropriate.
